Project 03 : Sea turtle Conservation.

Ahungalla south west coast is one of the most breath-taking locations around the globe for volunteering on sea turtle marine conservation projects.Our range of conservation volunteering programs include volunteers work with turtles and with community members, helping to build a sustainable turtle-friendly community and undertaking important research to help us understand species and systems better.

Purpose

The main purpose of this project is include provide environmental awareness to local communities, beach clean-ups and waste management.

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

  • Teach school children in Ahungalla and surrounding areas to ensure that the next generation has the knowledge, skills and desire to conserve their precious Turtle natural environment.
  • Volunteers will be placed in local temples and community centers to educate in the villages to improve their knowledge of Sea Turtles and importance of environmental protection.
  • Clean public beaches from excessive plastic and rubbish that are harmful to the local environment and marine life.
  • Educating tourists about the nature of the program.
  • Participate in mangrove restoration activities.
